You Belong To Me, Grey Holiday

FIREPROOF touched the lives and hearts of more than 4 million moviegoers when it played in theaters across America. This film about a firefighter, his wife ... and a marriage worth rescuing ended up being the No. 1 independent film in 2008!

This is the movie in "60 seconds" - a comedy sketch. Go below for the actual music by Grey Holiday. Their name Grey Holiday is symbolic in light of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The ‘grey’ reflects the death and pain that Christ endured, while ‘holiday’ represents the joyous and everlasting goodness that also came because of His resurrection.”

Sherwood Pictures is a Christian film company located in Albany, Georgia. This is a ministry of a local church, Sherwood Baptist Church. Their productions are comprised of mostly volunteers. Heading this unusual venture is Alex Kendrick, the associate pastor of media. Marie Keefe of Sherwood Baptist says,

"Sherwood Pictures follows the mission statement of Sherwood Baptist Church and that is reaching the whole world with the whole Word. And one of the ways to do that is through the gospel presentation. We have received thousands of e-mails from people who have said our movies were a tool in helping them come to a saving relationship with Jesus. And that is why we exist as a ministry."

In addition, people have been touched by the music in FIREPROOF. In this song, our Heavenly Father is calling us back to Himself, and He desires that husbands and wives fight for their marriages, as well.

The key line of the movie is 'Never leave your partner behind'.

Lyrics:
You run, you hide

As tears fall from your eyes
They fall like snow

From a wounded soul

You hold inside

The hurt of great divide

The hole is starting to get old

So come back to the light

To the love, you will find

Its been here all along

So come back to the start

And you'll find in your heart

That you always belonged

To Me

Just take the rope

I wont let it go
Give in

We can start again

I'm life, I'm hope

And I'm ready to explode

With how bad I want you back home

So come back to the light

To the love, you will find

Its been here all along

So come back to the start
And you'll find in your heart

That you always belonged

To Me

You're My daughter, you're My son

You're the one I long to love

And you've heard
I chose to die

Do you know you're the reason why?

Supporting Scriptures:

"So [Jesus] told them this parable: "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.' Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." Luke 15:3-7

"For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." 1 Peter 2:25

"I(Jesus) am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
John 10:11

“For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out." Ezekiel 34:11

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd." John 10:14-16

My Beloved, Kari Jobe

Valentine's Day Special

Maranatha is an Aramaic phrase occurring once only in the New Testament. It means, "Our Lord cometh!" The phrase may have been used as a common greeting between early Christians under persecution looking for His early return; it was possibly used this way by the Apostle Paul in his letter to Corinth. We, too, continue to wait for the certain appearing of our Lord Jesus! In the meantime, we wait under his mercy until we see our Bridegroom face to face.

"I do not know when Christ will come. I am no prophet, though I love the subject of prophecy. I dislike date-fixing, and I think it has done great harm. I only assert positively that Christ will come again one day in person to set up His kingdom, and that whether the day be near—or whether it be far off, it will take the Church and world exceedingly by surprise." - J.C. Ryle

Kari Jobe sings of the Redeemer's faithful wooing of His church.
It is a clear demonstration of Christ's acceptance of His Bride, our reunion, and our wedding supper...Maranatha!
Lyrics:
You're My Beloved
You're My Bride
To sing over you is My delight
Come away with Me My love

You're Beautiful to Me
So beautiful to Me

Under My mercy
Come and wait
Till we are standing face to face
I see no stain on you
My child

You're Beautiful to Me
So Beautiful to Me

I sing over you My song of peace
Cast all your care down at My feet
Come and find your rest in Me

I'll breathe My life inside of you
I'll bear you up on eagle's wings
And hide you in the shadow of My strength
I'll take you to My quiet waters
I'll restore your soul
Come rest in Me and be made whole

You're My beloved
You're My Bride
To sing over you is my delight
Come away with me my love

I'm Waiting For You, Michael W.Smith

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Revelations 3:20

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

I do love that Jesus used symbolism even a child can understand:
Jesus is knocking at the door of our hearts - we need to open it to Him.
Jesus is the Way - we need to go through Jesus (a doorway) to come to the Heavenly Father.

Our sons have a good friend who has wanted to start a procrastinator's club for some time. His website says "Coming Soon"...Many well meaning people will put off the most important decision of their life until it's too late. Consider this from 2 Peter 3:8-10,14:

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare..So then, dear friends, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. ."

"Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
2 Corinthians 6:2
Lyrics:
I walked this road
So very long ago
To show the way
So you would know
I walked the road
With holes in my hands in feet
To make the way
Come follow me

Chorus:
No, you are not alone
You will be free indeed
The journey begins and ends
With me
One million miles
It starts with a step or two
What are you waiting for?
I'm waiting for you

You run the race
Thinking you've almost won
Then you may find
You've only begun

You're on the road
Thinking you're far from here
And suddenly find
You're very near

Chorus

Supporting Scriptures:
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19

"Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is." Ephesians 5:15-17

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." Acts 20:24

" Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." 1 Corinthians 9:25

"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?" Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:31-36

Still/Be Still and Know, by Don Moen

I just love to get alone and praise our Savior! Or to stand at the kitchen sink and let my voice rise to the heavens! This is one way to bring joy to your home and your own heart as you thank Him for His covering and protection through the day or night. When you are afraid, don't give way to it! Call upon the Lord in sincerity and faith! "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

Using these you-tubes as a time of meditation or devotion would be a great way to start your day with praise and thanksgiving to God. Below the lyrics of each video post are some Scriptures. If you've never had/read a Bible before, get one, and open it to the Gospel of John. The gospel account is filled with first-hand accounts of Jesus' words and His world-changing 33 years on earth. Scholars generally accept that the Gospel of John was written between 50 and 85 A.D, within 50 years of Jesus' death and resurrection from the grave. Many who witnessed it were still alive at the time of John's writing.
The beginning of John, chapter 1, tells us who Jesus is, and chapter 3, v. 16, tells us the significance of Jesus and His purpose for the world. You can call upon Jesus to be your Lord. You can find rest for your soul in Christ when you come to Him in quietness and trust! You can know His power for a new life!

Lyrics:
Hide me now
Under Your wings
Cover me
Within Your mighty hand

CHORUS:
When the oceans rise
And the thunders roar
I Will soar with You
Above the storm
Father You are King
Over the flood
And I will be still
And know You are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know His power
In quietness and trust

Be still and know
That I am God

I am the God
That healeth thee

Supporting Scriptures:

"Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead." Philippians 3: 8-11

"He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” Exodus 15:26

"This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it." Isaiah 30:15

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10

"He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday" Psalm 91:4-6

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up (soar) with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Job Suite, Michael Card

When I first heard this work of Michael Card's on the Book of Job, I had to stop and digest the words; they made me weep. So many times I have tried to talk God into my way of thinking. How utterly foolish that is since He is the Creator, and we just the creature, He the Potter and we the clay!

"This song is almost an operetta. It is in four parts: 1. Job's story. 2. Job's lament. 3. God's response. 4. Job's response. It has been said that the book of Job is about the problem of innocent suffering. I found that not to be true. Job is about the awesomeness of God. The problem of suffering is never dealt with in the book. In Job we enter into another man's sufferings and discover with him that God is not only all we could ever want. He is also all we could ever need." Michael Card

This video portrays Satan as a woman (that's not biblical!), however, it will serve to capture the essence of Satan in the Book of Job. My goal is not to use the you tubes I present just for entertainment value, but to give depth and context for those not familiar with the Bible. I then urge you to study the Word for yourself!

Lyrics:
Blameless and upright, a fearer of God
A man truly righteous, no pious facade
One about whom God was accustomed to boast
and so one whom Satan desired the most
One day the accuser came breathing out lies
"It's Your Holy handouts, his faithfulness buys!"
In one desperate day his possessions were lost
His children all killed in one raw holocaust
His children all killed in one raw holocaust

and yet through it all
Through the tears and pain
He worshiped his God
Found no reason to blame

Once more the Deceiver denounced and decried
"It's skin for skin, & hide for hide
Strike down his flesh & he'll surely deny
and confess that his praying has all been a lie!"
"Very well, take him," the Holy One said
“But you must spare his life for my son shall not die.”
So Job was afflicted with terrible sores
Sat down in the ashes to wait for the Lord
Sat down in the ashes to wait for the Lord

and yet through it all
Through the tears & pain
He worshiped his God
Found no reason to blame

HIS LAMENT INTERLUDE:
A throne of ashes
A crown of pain
A sovereign of sorrow
A mournful reign

May the day of my birth be remembered no more
May darkness and shadow come and claim it once more
Why did I not perish on that dreadful day
and sleep now where kings and counselors lay

What I dreaded most has now come upon me
Why is light given those in misery
I loathe my own life, so my tears fall like rain
As I find that there is no peace in my pain

Lord, send a Comforter now to my door
So that this terror will frighten no more
A Counselor between us, to come hear my oath
Someone who could lay a hand on us both

These friends of mine are no comfort to me
So deafly they listen, so blindly they see
Their words and their doctrine, they all sound so true
The problem is Lord, they're all wrong about You!

I know my Advocate waits upon high
My Witness in Heaven sees the tears that I cry
A true intercessor who will condescend
To plead with God as a man pleads for his friend

If I've been untrue, if I've robbed the poor
If I'm without guilt, what am I suffering for
God would not crush me for some secret sin
and though He slay me still I'll trust in Him

I know now that my Redeemer's alive
He'll stand on this earth on the day He arrives
and though my own body by then is no more
Yet in my flesh I know, I'll see the Lord
I'll see the Lord, I'll see the Lord

HIS GOD:
Who is it that darkens my counsel?
Who speaks empty words without knowledge?
Brace yourself up like a man
and answer me now, if you can!

Can you put on glory and splendor?
What's the way to the home of the light?
Does your voice sound like the thunder?
Are you afraid?
Where were you when earth's foundations were laid?

Who gave the heart its wisdom?
The mind its desire to know?
Can you bind the stars?
Raise your voice to the clouds?
Did you make the eagle proud?

Will the ox spend the night by your manger?
Did you let the wild donkey go free?
Can you take leviathan home as a pet?
If you merely touched him, you'd never forget

So who is it that darkens my counsel?
Who speaks empty words without knowledge?
Brace yourself up like a man
and answer me now, if you can

HIS RESPONSE:
I am unworthy, how can I reply?
There's nothing that You cannot do
You are the storm that calmed my soul
I place my hand over my mouth
I place my hand over my mouth

Supporting Scriptures:
"There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil." Job 1:1

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” Job 1: 6-7

"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him." Job 13:15

"For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, " Job 19:25

Then Job answered the Lord:
“I am unworthy—how can I reply to you?
I put my hand over my mouth.
I spoke once, but I have no answer—
twice, but I will say no more.”
Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:
“Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.
“Would you discredit my justice?
Would you condemn me to justify yourself?
Do you have an arm like God’s,
and can your voice thunder like his?" Job 40:33-9
